Four Oaks and Lutheran Services in Iowa now manage respective areas for foster and adoptive families.

In order to serve foster and adoptive families closer to where they live, Iowa’s Foster Care and Adoption Services will now be divided between Four Oaks and Lutheran Services of Iowa. Four Oaks will be serving areas 2-5. LSI will be serving area 1.

    There is road construction on Eastern Avenue in front of the parking lot where those interested in attending our trainings and sessions would want to park. In order to access the buildings for training at FRI, people will need to enter Wittenmyer Lane from 29th Street and follow the Lane all the way to the south end of campus. There is a parking lot behind Building B where they can park and follow the signs to the correct building. Please give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes travel time for trainings.

  • PS-MAPP Class

    PS-MAPP Class

    Partnering for Permanence and Safety: Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting (PS-MAPP) is a 10-week series of foster parent training courses. It helps families make an informed decision about becoming a foster or adoptive family by preparing them for many aspects of the experience, including working with children who have been abused and neglected, partnering with birth families, and learning how to work with a team for the best interest of a child. You must be approved to attend class by your LSI Foster Care and Adoption worker before being assigned to a class.
